Valley Jr. Warrior EHL team forward Brad Estrada has committed to Northland College for the 2019-20 season.
Estrada joined the Warriors for the 2018-19 season and has been a strong asset to the team putting up 11 goals and 7 assists for a total of 18 points in his 30 games played so far this season.
Estrada says his time in the EHL helped mold him into both a better player and better person.
“My time in the EHL has been a great experience and a benefit with gaining interest among colleges. I can’t thank Coach Andy enough, with the opportunity to play for him and the Warriors. He has given me the opportunity to grow and develop as a player, a leader, and as a young man. The level of play in the EHL is great and I get to play very good players. With having over 180 junior A games my experience has provided me with great memories. My teammates from all my teams have contributed to my success. They were all great guys and I learned a lot from each team. The Warriors have been one of the best group of teammates one could ask for.”
He extended his thanks to his many coaches and billet families he’s had over his hockey career.
“I have had many coaches in my 16 years of playing hockey and each one have provided me with a skillset I could carry on to the next level. I have had some coaches that truly believed in me and contributed to my development. I personally would like to thank Coach Joe Burcar from U16 and obviously Coach Heinze and Coach Tabb. My Billets in Helena – Olivia and Chad and the Roussan family for making me feel like a part of their family. My Billets in Navan, Wendy and Scott and the rest of their family. I was a kid in a different country and you made it an easy to transition and were always supportive. My Billets in Dauphin Jason and LeeAnne and the Gibbs family for taking great care of me and making me feel right at home. There were some very cold Canadian nights I will never forget, and will always remember the warm hearts of my Billets.”
He also wanted to his express his thanks to his family members and God.
“Lastly, I would never gotten to this point without my Family and God. Thank you Mom, Dad, Kiki, and Dylan for always being there for me and supporting me through everything. Thank you Grandpa Mo, Grandpma Mo, Grandma papa and Grandma mama for always believing in me.”
