Haverhill, MA – Valley Jr. Warriors forward Bret Parker has committed to Salem State University for the 2018-19 season.
Parker joined the Warriors back in mid-December helping add a little fire to the line-up. Parker scored 3 goals in his 17 games here.
“After coming off a long injury, the Warriors organization took me in halfway through the season and got me back to where I needed to be. Coach Heinze allowed me to come in and play a lot of minutes and that helped in my development as a player,” said Parker.
Head Coach Andy Heinze described Parker as a ‘very skilled player’. Since joining the Warriors late in the season, Parker had to feel out his role on the team and where he would be most useful, ultimately ending up on the wing.
“Ultimately he got better as the season went on and was able to get the attention of Salem State. I think that will be a good fit for him. He really wanted to go to school. He helped us out with a lot of depth and skill in the line-up.”
Parker is looking forward to going to school and playing college hockey at Salem State. He also extended his thanks.
“I think the EHL is a top league for division 3 advancement and the coaches do a great job of finding the right fit for each player. I’d like to thank my friends and family for all the support,” said Parker.
