Kevin Rodgers is no stranger to the Valley Jr. Warrior program. In fact, the Haverhill native has been with the program from squirt majors until bantam majors and is now in his third season with the junior program.

Things for Rodgers have come full circle since his family hosted a Jr. Warrior player back when he was just 10-years-old, to now captaining that very same team.

The 5’9 defensemen is a solid player who is looking to play college hockey as his next step. As far as his style of play, Rodgers is a versatile defensemen, who often works the power play. “I do like to get in the rush but I also feel that I am a good stay-at-home-defensemen if need be.”

After years of being with the Jr. Warriors, Rodgers has certainly adjusted to the systems and often acts as a leader on the ice, mentoring younger players.

Before his time with the Warriors, Rodgers spent four years at Kents Hill School, a private co-ed boarding school in Maine. After wrapping up his high school career, Rodgers was introduced to Jr. Warriors coach Andy Heinze.

Since his time with the program, Rodgers has developed into quite the two-way defensemen.

Playing in all 30 games so far this season Rodgers has totaled four goals and seven assists for 11 points.

His focus is helping the team get to playoffs and hopefully earning a successful run.

The team faces off against the Vermont Lumberjacks next Wednesday, January 10 in Haverhill for an 11 a.m. puck drop. The two teams have been three times already this season. The Warriors have fallen short each time and look to secure a win.
